Our Story

Hey there — if you’re tired of political games, budget smoke screens, and watching your rights get chipped away, you’re in the right place.

We created OpenAgenda.wtf (With The Facts) because citizens deserve clarity, not confusion. We’re Tracey and Lynne — two women who got fed up with spin, selective storytelling, and the “trust us, it’s complicated” routine.

So we started digging.
Into budgets.
Into ballot language.
Into legislative trends.
Into the national narratives that quietly shape state policy — especially here in Colorado.

We’re not here to rant. We’re not here to cheer for teams. We’re here to ask real questions, expose the fine print, and offer solutions that actually help people understand what’s going on.

Subscribe, follow along, and join the conversation. Because if you’re not paying attention… someone else is writing the rules.

Colorado State Capitol
What We Research

We investigate the issues that shape daily life — in Colorado and across the country.

Our work focuses on:

Budget & Fiscal Policy

Budgets tell the truth even when politicians don’t, so we dig into how money moves from federal decisions down to state and local impacts. We break down spending, fees, taxes, and “creative accounting” so citizens can see who benefits and who gets stuck with the bill. Our goal is to make fiscal policy understandable — not a maze of jargon and fine print

Constitutional Rights, Public Safety & Gun Rights

We examine how laws, court decisions, and policy proposals shape the balance between constitutional rights, public safety, and responsible gun ownership. Our focus is on helping citizens understand the legal frameworks, data, and real‑world impacts behind these debates — without the noise or political posturing. By breaking down national and Colorado‑specific trends, we give people the clarity they need to navigate a complex and often emotional topic.

Elections & Voter Integrity

Elections are the backbone of democracy, and we look closely at how they’re run, secured, and communicated. We analyze everything from ballot design to voter roll maintenance to ensure citizens understand the systems behind their vote. Our work highlights both the strengths and vulnerabilities in election processes — without the spin.

Education Systems & Curriculum Trends

Education policy shapes the next generation, so we examine how national and state decisions influence classrooms, funding, and curriculum. We translate complex debates into clear, accessible insights that help parents, educators, and citizens understand what’s really happening. Our goal is to spotlight what works, what doesn’t, and what’s quietly shifting behind the scenes.

Agriculture & Rural Policy

Rural communities often feel the impact of federal and state policies first, especially in agriculture, land use, and resource management. We break down regulations, grants, and market pressures to show how they affect farmers, ranchers, and small towns. By connecting national trends to local realities, we help citizens understand the full picture of rural policy.

Taxes, Fees & Government Transparency

We follow the money — especially when governments use fees, loopholes, or ballot language gymnastics to avoid voter oversight. Our work exposes how these tactics shape budgets, services, and public trust. We aim to give citizens the clarity they need to hold officials accountable and understand what they’re really paying for.

Immigration Policy & Local Impact

Immigration debates often play out on national stages, but their consequences land in local communities. We examine how federal policies interact with state decisions, public services, and community dynamics. Our goal is to provide clear, factual context that helps citizens understand both the human and policy dimensions of immigration.

Environment, Land Use & Public Resources

Environmental and land‑use decisions shape everything from recreation access to water rights to wildfire policy. We analyze how federal agencies, state governments, and local stakeholders influence these outcomes — and what it means for citizens. By connecting policy to real‑world impact, we help people understand the stakes behind environmental decisions.
